High Quality Results
Don’t let its speed fool you…web inkjet presses deliver sharp text and vibrant colour. It’s capable of delivering clean, professional-quality pages that meet the expectations of both publishers and readers.
A Sustainable Choice
Our web inkjet press uses water-based, food-safe inks that are safer for the planet. These inks reduce waste and energy use, making this process a more environmentally responsible way to print.
How Does Web Inkjet Printing Work?

Like the Web Offset presses, Web Inkjet presses use a continuous roll of paper that feeds through the press without stopping. The difference here is that, instead of plates, the process starts with digital files which are sent directly to high-speed inkjet heads.
These heads spray tiny droplets of ink onto the moving paper with incredible accuracy, even at speeds up to 800 feet per minute. As the paper moves through the press, the ink is dried instantly using heat. At Friesens, our system includes inline finishing options that cut, fold, and bind the pages, streamlining the entire process.

What Type of Ink Does Web Inkjet Printing Use?

Friesens’ HP PageWide T250HD uses water-based pigment inks, designed specifically for high-speed digital printing. They are formulated with water as the primary solvent, making them safer to handle and more environmentally friendy. They’re also food-compliant, which is important for certain publishing applications.
While the ink itself is more expensive than traditional offset press inks, its offset by savings in setup time, labour, and waste reduction.
