Visitor Information
Friesens employee-owners are always ready to roll out the red carpet and welcome you. If you are visiting from out of province it is likely you will travel to Altona by flying to Winnipeg, MB or to Grand Forks, ND. From either airport it is an approximately 90 minute drive to Altona.
We suggest you check the weather in advance to know what to wear. Summer in Manitoba is warm . . . but in winter it is cold. All Friesens plants are heated, air conditioned, and humidity controlled. Once inside our facilities we will supply you with a comfortable work area for your convenience. Wi-Fi is available throughout the building.
Friesens has several customer suites for you to stay in. These modern accommodations will be your home away from home. Workspaces, Wi-Fi, a kitchenette, laundry facilities, and a common area with couches, a TV and a library of books are provided for your comfort.
Self-Publishing
Self-publishing can be both rewarding and successful, if done correctly. Countless authors, illustrators, photographers and other professionals have self-published books successfully, and you can too.
Friesens services many self-publishers. Whether your self-publishing needs are for short runs (350 book minimum) or long runs, Friesens can help. As your book business grows, Friesens provides a seamless quality and cost-efficient transition from digital to offset books. We have sales offices across Canada and the United States to help us better understand your needs.

Plant Tours
One of our great pleasures is to tour customers through our state-of-the-art facilities. Currently our Printers Way facility is undergoing a major renovation and at this time tour are on hold. However, the employee-owners at Friesens will welcome customers to tour our facility when renovations are complete. Tours should be scheduled in advance. Walk-in guided tours are not offered; however, we do provide tours for the purpose of education to school groups and educational affiliates which may also be scheduled in advance for specific times during the year
