Perfecting the Cutout

| Yearbooks

Whether you’re designing a collage, highlighting a student, or creating a themed spread, cutouts are a great way to add visual interest to your pages.  What’s even better? You don’t need to be a photoshop pro to pull it off!  We’ve put together a simple step-by-step guide to creating cutouts using Adobe Express (integrated into Friesens DesignIt) to help you make your pages shine.

Step 1: Go to your image in the DesignIt library palette.
Step 2: Right-click the image and choose EDIT IN ADOBE EXPRESS.
Step 3: Choose REMOVE BACKGROUND from your list of choices.  Adobe Express will automatically cut out the background.
Step 4 (if needed): Use the ERASE tool to tidy up any rough edges.
Step 5: Click BACKGROUND COLOUR, then choose the white box with the red diagonal line to save it as a transparent image.

Why It’s Amazing

  • No switching apps: Adobe Express is integrated into DesignIt, so everything happens in one place.
  • Fast & Intuitive: Even beginners can create professional-looking cutouts in no time.
  • Creative Freedom: Cutouts add personality and polish to your pages!
