TAVON POURBAHRAMI

A Dallas Native and graduate from the University of North Texas, Tavon’s professional career started in the hospitality, television, and photography industry before having the opportunity to work with schools. Tavon has been partnering with schools for over a decade, helping them create fun, exciting, and timeless yearbooks. He loves photography, marketing, design, and conceptual development. When not collaborating with schools, you can find Tavon traveling and spending time with family and friends, usually with a camera in hand.

LAURA SCHAUB

University of Oklahoma Professor Emerita Laura Schaub has been a national education specialist for yearbook companies across the U.S. and Canada for over 12 years. She previously served as executive director of the Oklahoma Interscholastic Press Association at the University of Oklahoma, where she taught typography, design, desktop publishing, and photography. Before joining OU, she taught journalism and advised student publications at Charles Page High School in Sand Springs, OK, for 22 years.

Schaub is a Columbia Scholastic Press Association Gold Key recipient, past Oklahoma Journalism Teacher of the Year, and former Dow Jones Newspaper Fund Distinguished Adviser. Inducted into the National Scholastic Journalism Hall of Fame in 1991, she also served two terms as CSPAA President. In 1997, she was named University of University of Oklahoma Journalism Professor of the Year and received the NSPA/JEA Pioneer Award in 2000. She has directed student publication workshops nationwide and contributed to several journalism texts. Schaub chaired the CSPA Judging Standards and Practices Committee for over ten years and received numerous awards for her service to scholastic journalism.
