Embossing & Debossing

Pressed to Impress
Embossing and debossing are awesome ways to add texture and personality to your yearbook cover. Embossing raises your design so it stands out, while debossing sinks it in for a cool, subtle effect. Want something even more low-key? Blind debossing skips the ink and foil, letting the shape and shadow do all the talking.
How Does It Work?
Embossing and debossing are created using custom metal dies that press your design into the cover material. Embossing pushes the design up so it stands out, while debossing presses it down for a sleek, sunken look. Once your artwork is ready, the team lines everything up and runs it through the press to give your cover that awesome textured finish. It’s a simple process with a big visual payoff.

What Are Our Options?
You’ve got options, depending on your vibe. Flat embossing or debossing keeps things simple with a clean, raised or lowered design. If you want something totally custom, we can get a die made just for your artwork, and we can even save it for next time. Or, go for embossed grains which add full-cover texture with patterns like Fox Fur or Mission Grain. We can help you decide!

Texture That Talks
Embossing and debossing aren’t just for logos…they’re a great way to add personality to your yearbook cover. You can highlight your school’s name, make your theme title pop, or even create a cool textured pattern across the whole cover. Try layering it with foil or spot gloss for extra shine or use it to frame a photo or message zone.
Things to Keep In Mind
- The go-to die for embossing or debossing is usually copper, but you can also go with brass if you want something a bit fancier. Brass dies give you deeper impressions, sharper details, and they last longer too.
