Sprayed Edges

Because Ordinary Won’t Do

This isn’t just any yearbook, it’s THE yearbook everyone will be talking about.  Sprayed edges are the ultimate glow-up your book deserves!  With vibrant, custom edges featuring your school colours, your mascot, or anything else you can imagine, your yearbook will become a true shelf standout.  Bold, unique, and a true reflection of your school!

So go ahead, make your mark.  Your yearbook isn’t just a collection of memories, it’s a masterpiece.

How Are Sprayed Edges Applied?

Sprayed edges are like giving your yearbook a mini makeover.  It starts by taking the book block and clamping it together super tight.  Then, using our brand-new edge printing machine, the ink is sprayed onto the edges of the book, creating a smooth, even finish.  Once it dries, voilà!  Your yearbook has a bold, custom look that totally pops.  It’s a little bit of art, a little bit of magic, and a whole lot of WOW.

For Edges that Make a Splash

Sprayed edges aren’t just about colour, they’re about personality.  You can match your school colours for a bold, spirited look, or go with a gradient fade for a modern vibe.  Want to level up?  Add patterns, pictures, or even custom artwork.  Whether it’s a subtle pop or a full-on WOW factor, sprayed edges let you customize your yearbook to reflect your school’s style, your class’s energy, and your unforgettable year.

Things To Keep in Mind

Sprayed edges and bleeds…can they mix?  They sure can, but something to be aware of: yearbooks often have pages with bleeds, which means the artwork or photos go all the way to the edge of the page. While we can still add sprayed edges to these books, the ink from those full-bleed pages might sneak onto the sprayed edges, making the color look a little less crisp or uniform.  Think of it as adding character—like your favorite pair of worn-in sneakers, but for your yearbook!

How long does it take?  It depends on the size of your yearbook and how busy the production line is. Bigger books take a bit more time to spray, and if there’s a high volume of orders, your book might have to wait its turn. But trust us…it’s worth the wait!

Can we stain the edges with a solid colour?  Absolutely!  Solid sprayed edges are a great way to make your yearbook pop, but here’s the inside scoop: some colors, like black, can look a little faded after the first spray. To get that deep, rich, dramatic look, we might need to give it a second pass.

What affects the cost?  It comes down to two things…how thick your yearbook is (more pages = more pages to spray), and how much ink is needed to bring your design to life.

Here’s how to submit your sprayed edge design like a pro: You’ll need to send in your final design as a PDF.  But not just one! If you’re printing on multiple edges (like the top, bottom, and fore-edge), you’ll need to create a separate PDF for each one. So for a fully wrapped look, that’s three PDFs total.

How big (or small) can our yearbook be?  We’ve got some size rules to keep things looking sharp! The smallest book we can spray is 78mm x 78mm (that’s about 3-1/16″ x 3-1/16″), and the biggest is 360mm x 360mm (around 14-1/8″ x 14-1/8″).
