A born and raised Altona boy, I went to Winnipeg for my post-secondary education graduating with a diploma in business administration from Red River College and followed that up with a commerce degree from the University of Manitoba .
I joined the Friesens team in 2002 working as a customer service representative for two years, left the company for a short time and then returned to join the sales force in 2005. The territory I cover includes Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Alberta, Northwestern Ontario and the Northern Territories.
My office is based in the plant, so I get to follow my customers’ book projects very closely throughout the production process. The customer service background I have also helps my customers as we’re able to come up with creative solutions & options when developing a book project.
When away from the office I enjoy spending time reading, watching, playing or coaching a wide variety of sports, as well as investing time as a part of the leadership team of my church.
At home, my wife Andrea and I enjoy watching our sons Luke & Rafael grow and develop. Both our families live in the Altona area, so we enjoy the comfort of having grandparents and our siblings nearby.

Greetings! Thank you for your interest in Friesens!
Just to provide you with some background, my career began with graphic arts training in high school in Ann Arbor, MI. I continued this path earning a Bachelor of Science in Printing Management/Marketing from Western Michigan University. My educational experience culminated in 1991 earning an MBA from San Francisco State University.
In terms of professional experience, I worked for 15 years at one of the Ann Arbor book manufacturers in both their estimating and sales areas. I have worked on the sales side in New York City as well as the western U.S. My career took a very positive turn in 1995 when I opened up the western U.S. sales territory for Friesens. The territory has since grown into one of the largest territories, in terms of sales revenue, for the company.
My personal ambitions include a number of areas helping to provide for the happiness and growth of my two teenage children, studying and practicing piano, and Kriya Yoga meditation.
Thank you very much for your interest! I hope that I can be of service to you as you consider your next publishing adventure!

Elise Gochberg West Coast Senior Account Executive | Friesens America | West Coast Sales (CA, NV)
Hello, my name is Elise Gochberg and I have been involved in the print manufacturing industry for over 16 years before joining Spectrum PrintGroup/Friesens Printing in 2012 as a West Coast Senior Account Executive. I began my career armed with my Bachelor of Arts in Communication from San Diego State University and spent my early professional years involved in the customer service industry and as a production manager for a local magazine. It was a natural transition and the best and most significant decision of my professional life when I joined a reputable book manufacturer in 1995 as my first role as a print sales representative. I truly want to be a print consultant to my clients and create relationships and a partnership with publishers both large and small that is based on loyalty, trust, and enthusiasm for my profession and for the projects that I work on with my clients.
I am an East Coast transplant, but I have been a long time 30+ year resident of beautiful Marin County, CA.. I am extremely proud to be based in the Bay Area and highly value serving my West Coast clients to the best of my ability and beyond. I recently rejoined the team at Professional Professionals Network (now known as PPN and formally known as BBW) after working on the Board of Directors of Bookbuilders West for over 8 years.
I am a dedicated San Francisco Giants fan and enjoy travel, practicing yoga and I’m an avid skier, bike rider and hiker.

Elizabeth Cleveland Friesens America | Midwest (WI, MN, ND, SD, NE, MO, IA)
Hello, my name is Elizabeth Cleveland. My love for books runs deep and started young when, as a kid, I named two of our barn cats Simon & Schuster. At the age of 12 I knew I wanted a career in books when I visited my dad at work and watched as he deliberated over covers for a catalogue – it was the coolest thing I could imagine, picking a cover for a book! My career began in 1995 as an intern at a small non-profit press in Minneapolis, continuing on to work primarily in production and print buying. My relationship with Friesens began as a customer, buying print for clients who often required high-end specialty work, and I could always trust Friesens to deliver to their expectations. Friesens proved to be consistently the best choice for the projects, both in quality and service. With my history both as a buyer and going on ten years as an employee-owner of Friesens, I have a unique perspective and years of expertise to offer.
I was born and bred in the Twin Cities – that combined with my background in publishing and the legacy of my dad, who worked in the industry for most of his career, I have maintained strong connections in the book world. I am proud to continue the legacy by representing such a professional company as Friesens, who genuinely understands the importance of high-quality book-making, truly craft in print.
My territory includes Minnesota, Wisconsin, Iowa, North & South Dakota, Nebraska, and Missouri. Please don’t hesitate to reach out regarding a pending project or with any questions. I look forward to hearing from you!
Fred Cheetham Canada | Ontario
Hello, I have worked at Friesens in the Toronto sales office since 1983. Before coming to Friesens I worked in publishing, first in editorial, then in production. My last position was Production Manager at Butterworths Canada. I work with trade and educational publishers, getting their books out to them when they are needed and produced to a high standard. If you have any questions about printing and/or publishing your book, please get in touch with me. I will be happy to be of service.
Gerhard Aichelberger Book Division Representative | Canada | British Columbia (Vancouver Island, Gulf Islands)
Hello, my name is Gerhard Aichelberger and I am the Friesens Book Division Representative for the San Juan Islands of Washington State, and the State of Alaska, as well as Vancouver Island and the Gulf Islands of British Columbia.
I have been with Friesens since 2001, and am extremely proud to be a part of such a solid and professional organization. I have been working in the printing industry since 1976 and am a Journeyman Pressman by trade. I had been working in print production for about 20 years, when I switched over to the sales side of the industry. My production experience, along with my sales experience, affords me the opportunity to help customers with all aspects of their book project. I consider my role more as one of a consultant, providing customers with all the information they require in order to make fully informed and educated decisions. I then help to make sure that the manufacturing process goes as planned, and will ultimately ensure that customers are happy with every aspect of their printing experience.
I was born and raised here on beautiful Vancouver Island, which has provided me with a wonderful environment to raise our family with my wife, Glenda. My sales office is located in Cobble Hill, just north of Victoria.
I look forward to the possibility of helping you with your book project, and demonstrating to you what a great experience printing with Friesens can be.

Jorge Rocha Canada | British Columbia Mainland
As your Friesens Vancouver based Representative for British Columbia Mainland and the Sunshine Coast, I’ve had the pleasure of working with many successful writers, and publishers as well as entrepreneurial clients across the province in a consultative sales/service capacity.
I grew up in northern BC (Kitimat) and have travelled the province extensively so I feel passionate about BC Book Publishing. I’ve made it my mission to assist publishers of all levels of expertise to effectively communicate their ideas in order to produce professional, cost efficient, attractive hardcover and softcover titles for the retail book trade as well as other specialty markets.
I’ve been the Friesens point person here since January 1998 and since that time I’ve witnessed the publishing industry go through some major changes, especially over these past few years. What remains consistent to successful publishing is a quality book product, the willingness/ability to adapt your marketing techniques and the perseverance required to promote and distribute your book project.
As a guest lecturer at Simon Fraser University and the Canadian Publishing Seminar Series on book production and as a member of the Alcuin Society, I’m kept abreast of current publishing trends and marketing techniques and try to share these with my clients.
I can advise on book production issues (layout/design) that should be taken into consideration prior to printing and provide cost efficient pricing and coordinated scheduling through to distribution.

Ryan Hildebrand Canada | Canadian Sales Manager
As one of our 500 plus owners I want to ensure your impression of our website and company is one of dedication to our craft, with a foundation built on the great people at Friesens. While we are considered by many to have one of the most technologically advanced plants in the world, what is most unique about Friesens is the people. It is our employee owners and the dedication we have to helping our customers succeed that makes the difference. As our founder DW Friesen said “we will only be successful, if our customers are successful”.
The pride of being an owner helps drive us to go the extra mile, dedicating ourselves to our customers and our craft. I would say it permeates the walls of Friesens. I have been with Friesens since 1994 in a variety of capacities and have experienced many changes in our industry. That is the challenge, excitement, and satisfaction that keeps me engaged and motivated to keep our company and our customers growing.
My current role is in Sales Management, leading our dedicated Canadian Sales Team. Outside the office I enjoy spending time with my wonderful wife and three kids. While it can be a real challenge when the kids outnumber the parents, we do find time to get away and travel together, play a variety of sports, and keep busy spending time with family and friends.
Thanks for taking the time to visit our website. I welcome the opportunity to speak with you or visit with you during my travels or possibly a plant visit to Altona.
