Dear Friends,
We may have some positive news regarding tariffs.
The tariffs that were imposed on March 4, 2025, by the Trump administration were implemented by the authority granted under the International Emergency Economic Powers Act of 1977 (IEEPA).
Unlike previous tariff actions administered through the Office of The United States Trade Representative, the IEEPA provides an exemption for informational materials, including publications. Therefore, we are proceeding with the assumption that books and other publications shipped from Canada to the United States, will be exempt from these tariffs.
While we are still bracing for the overall damage that a trade war will inflict on both of our countries, we are hopeful that this exemption means that the immediate threat to our products and supply chains may be avoided.
We will keep monitoring the situation and will advise if there are any changes to this understanding. In the meantime, please continue relying on us as your trusted partner.
Thank you for your support!
