Making the Final Push to Sell Out

| Yearbooks

After months of putting together your yearbook, the last thing you want is to have a bunch of unsold books! Time to make the final push to get those last orders in and sell out that book….and we’ve got some practical, creative ideas to get you over the finish line.

CREATE A SENSE OF URGENCY

People respond when they feel time is running out. Use phrases like “Last Chance!” or “Pre-Order Closes Friday!” in your posts and emails. Add a countdown timer to your website or social media stories. When people know there is a deadline, they’re more likely to act.

SHOW WHAT THEY’LL MISS

Share sneak peeks of the best spreads…sports highlights, candid moments, grad photos. Post a short video flipping though a few pages (without giving everything away). Remind them that the yearbook is the only place where all these memories live together.

MAKE IT EASY TO BUY

Double-check that your ordering process is simple and mobile-friendly. Share direct links everywhere…social media, email, posters with QR codes. If it takes more than a minute to order, you might lose them.

USE SOCIAL PROOF

Ask students and staff who’ve already ordered to share why they did. Post quotes like, “I can’t wait to look back at these memories!” Seeing peers excited about the yearbook can nudge others to join in.

OFFER A FUN INCENTIVE

Consider a quick contest: “Order by Thursday and win a gift card!” or “First 10 orders today get free personalization!”. Small perks can make a big difference in motivating action.

GO WHERE THEY ARE

Don’t just rely on announcements…meet students where they hang out. Set up a table in the cafeteria, library, or near the main entrance. Bring a sample yearbook and tablet for easy ordering on the spot.

KEEP THE ENERGY UP

Your enthusiasm is contagious! Post daily reminders with fun captions, share behind-the-scenes photos, celebrate milestones (“We’re 80% sold out!”)…people love being part of something exciting. Remind people of the emotional connection to yearbooks and you’ll see those last orders roll in!
