~ from Chad Friesen, CEO, Friesens Corporation
Thankfully, our governments were able to avoid kicking off a trade war on Monday with the announcement of a 30-day pause in the tariff threats. While it is still uncertain if tariffs will come to fruition, we want to reassure you that we are monitoring the situation and planning for multiple scenarios. We plan to protect your pricing as much as we can and for as long as we can if tariffs are imposed. This reflects our commitment to continue as a stable and reliable partner in uncertain times.
We also plan to protect our employee-owners for as long as we can. If tariffs are imposed, many companies will conduct immediate layoffs to cut expenses. As an employee-owned company, we intend to preserve the livelihoods of the skilled workers that build great products for you today and in the future.
Lastly, should you have any specific trade concerns that we can address, we stand ready to assist. We may be able to mitigate risks for you in relation to your own cross-border logistics related to printing, storage, and distribution in Canada.
We have overcome many challenges in our 118 years, and we will overcome this one as well. We greatly appreciate your understanding, your support, and your loyalty. If you have any questions or concerns about current or future projects, please don’t hesitate to contact us.
