The Canadian Printing Awards, organized by PrintAction Magazine and Annex Business Media, shine a spotlight on excellence in printing, environmental leadership, and individual achievement across the industry. Being recognized among the best in Canada in an honour we’re excited to share!
This year, Friesens was honoured with:
- Best Student Project of the Year – Industry: In the Moment
- Best Print Project, the Prairies (Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Alberta): Chasing Artwork
- Books, Softcover Offset: Chasing Artwork
- Finalist, Best in Show: Chasing Artwork
Each project reflects the craftsmanship that define Friesens.
- In the Moment is a stunning student-led project that captures imagination and design innovation. The cover uses Luminescent lamination with white opaque print for a bright, textured look, while the knockout treatment of the word MOMENT adds depth. The blind debossing of “In The” gives a subtle, elegant touch.
- Chasing Artwork showcases bold visuals and exceptional print quality. One of the standout features is the creative use of foil stamping…not just as a title accent but as part of the artwork itself. Foil was integrated into the white spaces of the illustrations, adding movement and depth. This foil interacts with the animation-style drawings, making the cover feel dynamic. Completing the presentation is a full foil-stamped belly band that mirrors the cover’s pattern and is crafted to fit the book perfectly.
