Industrial Electrician

The Industrial Electrician is responsible for all electrical services relating to machine operation at Friesens’ Book, Yearbook, Web, think4D and Packaging Divisions, working closely with the Machine Maintenance staff.

Position Overview:
• Deals with electrical issues to keep the equipment running
• Assists in the maintenance of a suppliers listing for purchasing supplies and parts
• Keep a supply of regularly used parts in stock and order other parts as required
• Participates in Preventative Maintenance programs with the Electrician and Facilities Manager
• Participates in Friesens “lock-out” procedures
• Keeps all electrical areas clean and orderly
• Draws on other Maintenance staff for help by making arrangements with the Facilities Manager
• Is available for callbacks outside of regular working hours

Desired Skills:
• Must be a Red Seal Certified Electrician
• Knowledge of Programmable Logic Controls (PLC’S), Variable Frequency Drives (VFD) and a variety of control systems required
• Experience with Allen Bradley, Omron and GE Fanuc software
• Ability to read electrical schematics
• High School Diploma

Lunchroom Support

The Lunchroom Support personnel is responsible for the preparation and service of lunchroom food. He/She is responsible for maintaining the cafeteria in a clean and sanitary manner according to policy.

Mondays: 7 AM – 3:30 PM, Tuesday – Friday: 7:30 AM – 3:30 PM
Full Time – Term, ending August 25, 2017

Position Overview:
• Carry out work tasks as assigned by the Lunchroom Coordinator and as outlined in the Lunchroom Procedures Manual
• Ensure all menu items are prepared and outsourced by licensed vendors and served according to departmental policies and procedure
• Provide friendly and efficient customer service to all staff and external customers in the lunchroom
• Responsible for monitoring stock, ordering and receiving of all goods for the Book and Yearbook department lunchrooms
• Assist the Lunchroom Coordinator in some administrative tasks as per company policy and procedure

Desired Skills:
• High school diploma or GED required
• Minimum of 1 year experience food preparation and services required
• Conscientious with particular attention to cleanliness
• Basic math skills
• Experience operating a cash register
• Strong customer service skills
• Must be able to lift, push, pull and move food, equipment, supplies, etc., in excess of twenty-five (25) pounds
• Excellent teamwork and team building skills
• Strong time management skills
• Ability to work unsupervised
• Class 5 drivers license

Short Haul Truck Driver

This job is ideal for the person who enjoys driving and being on the road but also wants to return home at the end of each day. The Short Haul Truck Driver is responsible to move raw materials and finished product between Altona and Winnipeg using Friesens tractor-trailer. He/she receives day-to-day pick-up and delivery activity directions from the Shipping Manager. On occasion the driver may need to do a pick-up or delivery to the United States.

Monday – Friday, 7:30 AM – 3:30 PM
Full Time

Position Overview:
• Pick up and deliveries in Winnipeg as per Pick-up and Delivery Slips and related messages
• Daily inspections of truck to ensure it is in safe working order, reporting any concerns to the Shipping Manager
• Complete necessary paperwork at end of each shift
• Record and maintain required documentation
• Comply with applicable legislation
• Load and unload trucks
• Overtime as needed

Desired Skills:
• High School Diploma, GED or equivalent
• Valid Class 1 driver’s license
• Valid passport and able to drive in the United States
• Clean driving record
• Computer literate
• Strong mechanical aptitude, ability to perform routine vehicle maintenance
• Transportation of Dangerous Goods Certification will be provided
• Strong English written and verbal communication skills
• Exceptional organization abilities
• Strong work ethic
• Professional/mature demeanor, high level of personal integrity
• Must be able to work with little supervision
