This machine is designed to punch holes along the spine of the book in preparation for, Specialty Binding. A Punching Die is set up in the machine to the length of the books spine. Depending on the type of binding, the holes are either round, oval or square. The spines of the books have been trimmed off so all the pages are single sheets. The books are fed into the pocket at one end of the machine, and are picked up by a finger, that has been set to a specific number of sheets. The sheets are transported by belt into the punching area. The punched books are stack on skids and moved to the next step in finishing.
We have two automatic punches that we operate for most applications and one manual punch that we use for the odd sizes and oversized jobs that we get in the Bindery.
