The Gietz stamping press is similar to a sheet fed offset press in that it takes flat stock and transfers an image to the stock. This press was added to our cover-decorating lineup in August of 1998 and has replaced most of the work we previously did on the Kolbus Foil Stamper. The convenience and speed of handling sheets as opposed to finished covers has made case stamping on our Kolbus Stamper almost obsolete.
The Gietz stamper takes flat sheet stock and stamps an image onto the stock. This is accomplished by installing a "Foil cut" into the machine and applying heat to the cut. The foil, which comes in a large variety of colours, is fed across the foil cut and with heat and pressure the image is transferred to the cover stock. After stamping, the cover stock is destined for further finishing by either case making, laminating and so on. The maximum sheet size is 31 1/8" X 22" with a maximum stamping area of 28 3/8" X 20 ˝". Minimum sheet size is 11" X 8 5/16". We are also able to "Die cut", "Score" and "Emboss" on the Gietz Stamper.
