This machine is used to Reinforce the spine of the first and last signature in a book. This process gives the finished book more strength and is most often used in School text books and field and resource manuals. The signature and endsheet are glued together with a thin bead of Cold Emulsion glue at the spine. A strip of cloth called "Cambrick" is glued along the spine of the signature and endsheet. The signatures are Bracket Stripped before they are collated.
